We are currently looking for an Estimator to join our team.

Primary Purpose of Role:

Managing the initial phases of construction projects, focusing on cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal development. Their role involves analyzing project plans and specifications, collaborating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data, and preparing detailed bid packages to secure contracts. They ensure estimates align with project goals, timelines, and market conditions while maintaining a competitive edge. Strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and effective communication are key to their success in evaluating potential risks, optimizing resources, and contributing to project profitability.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
  • Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting subcontractor bids, reviewing proposals, and preparing bid packages for submission.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documents in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to clarify project requirements and develop comprehensive bids that meet client expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience with public bid projects, including familiarity with government regulations, bidding processes, and compliance requirements.

Knowledge & Skill:

  • Degree in construction or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of the industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning public projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure & coordinate numerous activities & groups of people simultaneously.
  • Quick thinking, motivated individual willing to learn our business & our clients.
  • Dependable & able to work a flexible schedule as workflow dictates.
  • Ability to read & interpret detailed blueprints.
  • Must be able to value engineer a set of construction documents
  • Experienced in construction specific software (i.e. Redteam, Microsoft Project, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.) to effectively organize & manage the project process
  • Ability to read building plans & understand big picture construction processes to drive projects/programs to a successful completion while working with a varied team of clients, field managers, project design team, superintendents, subcontractors, & vendors
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands & priorities
  • Strong analytical skills in evaluating situations
  • Management & delegation capabilities
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
