Apply today and join a program that will set you up for success with unmatched training and real-world experience! **As a Protection & Control Engineer,** you will play a crucial role in the design and development of utility substation Protection & Control (P&C) engineering design packages that include drawings such as one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC/DC Elementary diagrams, circuit schedules, logic diagrams, operating diagrams, and more. The 2025 Engineering Boot Camp, powered by Qualus University, will be starting on **July 7, 2025** . As a program participant, you will receive an offer to be a full-time employee with Qualus. Program participants will be required to travel as part of the training. Full-time roles are available for the following locations: + Chattanooga, TN - Relay Settings Engineer + Chattanooga, TN - Substation Design Engineer + Chattanooga, TN - Protection & Control Engineer + Trussville, AL - Protection & Control Engineer + Trussville, AL - Power Systems Engineer + Westborough, MA - Protection & Control Engineer + Westborough, MA - Substation Design Engineer + Fort Worth, TX - Protection & Control Engineer + Fort Worth, TX - Substation Design Engineer + Raleigh, NC - Protection & Control Engineer + Raleigh, NC - Substation Design Engineer + Lake Mary, FL - Protection & Control Engineer + Lake Mary, FL - Substation Design Engineer + El Dorado, KS - Substation Design Engineer + Louisville, KY - Power Systems Engineer + Ridgeland, MS - Power Systems Engineer + Ridgeland, MS - Protection & Control Engineer + Ridgeland, MS - Substation Design Engineer **Responsibilities** + Coordinate with Substation Design Engineers, Relay Settings Engineers, and other groups to ensure design concurrence. + Development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communication systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, control house layouts, wiring/connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials. + Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals. + Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines. + Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations and protection and control schematics for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training. + Substation awareness and Safety consciousness. + Aptitude to quickly learn and apply test procedures for various types of substation equipment. + Good PC skills and the ability to support testing activities as required by the project lead. + Develop drawings and assist in the preparation of design packages using CAD/drafting skills. + Preparing additional support documentation as needed to assist procurement, construction **_,_** and operation/maintenance of systems being designed. + Consistently following established design standards and CAD drafting standards while assuring quality, accuracy, and completeness. + Identifying process improvement ideas and commuting ideas through appropriate management channels. **Qualifications** + BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a focus on power systems. + Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. + Microsoft Office product application. + Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. + Educational experience directly related to working with [medium to high voltage] electricity (preferred). + Must have the ability to work independently, and accurately, and have high attention to detail. + Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers. + Strong computer skills. **Company Overview** Qualus is a leading pure-play power services firm and innovator at the forefront of the energy transition and transformation, with differentiated capabilities across grid modernization, resiliency, security, and sustainability.
