Job Summary This role reports to the Global Financial Crime Division (GFCD) Design, Tuning, and Optimization team. It aims to establish GFCD's Global Data Platform capabilities for MUFG, supporting Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening functions through strategic requirements, design, and data analytics. Major Responsibilities Lead the gathering and documentation of business requirements for GFCD’s global data platform, focusing on advanced data analytics to combat financial crimes. Provide guidance on creating sustainable data pipelines and employing analytical techniques for transaction analysis, sanctions screening, and system integration. Analyze complex datasets using Databricks to identify patterns and anomalies indicative of financial crimes, utilizing data mining and machine learning techniques. Develop, test, and maintain ETL processes and Python scripts to support analytics. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights and present findings to stakeholders. Build tuning and optimization utilities for downstream transaction monitoring and sanctions screening applications. Ensure compliance with technical standards, maintaining data integrity and security. Support cross-functional teams, including reporting, data governance, and operational functions, fostering collaboration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in financial crimes data analytics within financial services. Experience in Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening to identify suspicious activities and ensure compliance. Strong technical skills in Python, Scala, and SQL, with familiarity with machine learning models and model governance. Proficiency in Databricks and Apache Spark, including Delta Lake and real-time data streaming. Relevant certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Analyst, Machine Learning, and Data Engineer. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex insights to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The typical base salary range is $89K - $120K, depending on experience, skills, and location.
