Heavy Civil Estimator

📍 Western Pennsylvania

💼 Full-Time | Base Salary: $80,000 – $130,000 (commensurate with experience)

A well-established and growing heavy/industrial contractor is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator to support operations in the Western Pennsylvania region. This role involves developing competitive proposals through accurate cost estimates for general conditions, self-performed work, and subcontracted work. You’ll contribute to impactful projects while being part of a company known for its integrity, excellence, and commitment to its people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil construction projects
• Analyze RFPs, drawings, and specifications to develop project scope understanding
• Quantify work scopes and assist in developing General Conditions
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure complete, accurate bids
• Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate project conditions
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors for pricing and clarification

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, or a technical degree with 5+ years of relevant field and estimating experience
• Proven heavy civil estimating experience with a focus on earthwork take-offs and self-perform work
• Proficient in interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Preferred software experience: Carlson, HCSS, and Bluebeam
• Willingness to work in both office and field settings, with travel or relocation as needed
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
